Swedish massage (For those who need to unwind, de-stress, and relax.) Swedish massage is the most common form of massage therapy. It entails applying light to medium pressure, using kneading, gentle and long strokes to the superficial muscles groups. Swedish massage is good for reducing stress, improving circulation, and calming the nervous system.
Deep Tissue massage (For those needing relief from chronic pain, and a little more than basic relaxation.) Deep Tissue Massage is for those who suffer from chronic pain or muscle conditions, such as fibromyalgia. The strokes used are more direct, deep, and slow in nature, and address the deeper non-superficial muscle groups. Some stretching and joint movements are also a part of this massage therapy. Deep tissue massage is good for improving circulation, and reducing muscle spasms and pain.
Myofascial Release massage (For those needing relief from stiffness due to lack of or too much exercise.) Myo (is Muscle) and Fascia (is the web like connective tissue that surrounds the muscle). Sometimes it is difficult to massage the muscles due to the fascia being too stiff. The strokes used in myofascial release massage are usually medium to deep spreading strokes used to warm the fascia to relaxation, in order to work on the muscle tissue. Myofascial massage is great for increasing blood flow.
Aromatherapy (Enhances the experience of massage for everyone). Certain herbs and plants essential oils are known to have healing properties and address specific problems. For example, lavender is known to soothe and calm the muscles, and peppermint oil is known to soothe sinus pain and headaches. During the massage session, these oils are placed in a base oil or cream and applied to the body providing a therapeutic healing experience for the client. The oils are also used in other applications during the massage session.
Hot Stone massage (Benefits mental, spiritual, physical and overall wellness. Aids in relaxation of the mind and cure muscle soreness.) Stone massage involves the application of water-heated basalt stones of varying sizes to key points on the body, giving a deep massage and creating sensations of comfort and warmth. The direct heat relaxes muscles, allowing manipulation of a greater intensity than with regular massage.
ALL YOU “KNEAD” MASSAGE (Relieves stress and tension in your body and provides pain relief). This is a combination massage which integrates more than one style of massage modality. It combines techniques from Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, hot stone and aromatherapy. The therapist will use their expertise to combine techniques to best benefit your specific needs. This type of massage is a great choice for someone who is not as familiar with massage. It can help you discover your preferred massage technique and allow you to enjoy multiple modalities in one session.
On-site/Chair massage (Perfect for work environments, special events, conventions, and tradeshows.) Chair Massage is an effective and quick way to relieve stress in the shoulders, neck, back, arms, and hands, in just 10 to 30 minutes. The session is administered in a special massage chair, with the individual being fully clothed. Chair massage is extremely popular in many corporate offices, at wedding events such as bridal showers, and at corporate conventions, conferences and tradeshows.
Medical Massage (Treatment targeted to address client’s specific problem(s). Medical massage is a results-oriented therapy which works toward resolving specific conditions that a physician has diagnosed in a patient. The treatment employs a variety of modalities and procedures to treat the particular areas of a patient’s body suffering from injury or pain.
